Suru Valley
The Suru valley is a valley in the Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir, which is drained by the Suru River.
Kargil is a town, which serves as the headquarters of Kargil district of Ladakh in the state of Jammu and Kashmir in India. It is the second largest town in Ladakh after Leh. It is located 60 km and 204 km from Drass and Srinagar to the west respectively, 234 km from Leh to the east, 240 km from Padum to the southeast and 1,047 km from Delhi to the south.
Kargil can be approached through the link road, from Jammu and Kashmir. While the destination is away from the hustle bustle of the cities, one can reach Kargil by private car and bus. There is no railway station at Kargil, but one can travel via the nearest railway stations easily.
There is no railway station in Kargil. However, there are a few rail stations near the destination which can be availed.
Bus is one of the most popular public transports in Jammu and Kashmir. From Kargil, you can avail bus services to most parts of the state. Apart from State Govt run buses, there are a number of private bus operators who offer bus transportation in luxury buses.
Although Kargil does not have many restaurants around, you would find a number of food joints, mostly run by friendly locals that offer lip smacking delicacies.
Thanks to the natural beauty of Kargil, there are a quite a few hotels in the area. You can find luxurious hotels as well as budget ones with excellent hospitality and warmth.
Kishtwar is well connected to other parts of Jammu and Kashmir by road. While the Jammu & Kashmir State Road Transportation (JKSRTC) runs buses that connects this dreamy town to the rest of the state, there are private buses, luxury buses and private transportation available too!
